Center for the Adolescents of San Miguel de Allende

In Mexico’s Guanajuato state, an estimated 7 in every 10 young people between the ages of 12 and 24 have suffered some form of violence. Founded in 1985 and long recognized for their work to improve reproductive health services and professionalize midwifery across Mexico, the Centro para los Adolescentes de San Miguel de Allende (CASA) launched a violence prevention program in 2007 in an effort to address epidemic levels of gender-based violence across Guanajuato state, with a particular focus on how the phenomenon affects youth.
