Fundación Creciendo Unidos

The city of Cúcuta is home to over 30,000 people who have been displaced by Colombia’s armed conflict; children from these families often struggle to maintain consistent school attendance and are under pressure to contribute to the family income as soon as they are old enough to work. Through their outreach center in Cúcuta, Creciendo Unidos provides educational reintegration support, as well as vocational and entrepreneurship training, to at-risk children and adolescents from Cúcuta, many of whom come from this background.

EMpower’s fifth grant to Creciendo Unidos supports the organization’s vocational training programs in baking and leatherwork, including the development of an entrepreneurial training module for young people who wish to establish their own micro-enterprises in these areas.
