Fundación Dos Mundos

Fundación Dos Mundos was founded in 1996 to address the emotional impact of violence against children, and has become a national reference point for addressing the impact of Colombia’s armed conflict from a psychosocial perspective. Its strategies include psychosocial support training, public education, research, and advocacy on a local and national scale. With EMpower funding (2007-9), Dos Mundos worked with teachers, students, and parents at a public school in the community of Bosa, located just outside Bogotá, to strengthen support systems and decrease stigmatization of the displaced population, with special attention to empowering and reducing discrimination and violence against girls.
