Fundación Reciduca

Argentina’s public education system is in crisis: more than 250,000 students fail to advance to the next grade level each year, and secondary school dropout rates surpass 20% annually. Meanwhile, 380,000 youth aged 15-19 who have abandoned their studies are currently neither working nor looking for work. Fundación Reciduca was founded in 2004 to develop innovative solutions to this crisis; the organization currently implements school-based tutoring, job preparedness, and community service programs that emphasize the importance of completing secondary education, gaining practical work experience, and caring for the environment (especially through recycling) for at-risk youth in Greater Buenos Aires. Since 2004, 580 young people have participated in Reciduca’s programs: 90% of them have graduated from secondary school, and 85% are currently employed.
