Nishtha addresses some of the key issues in poverty—lack of education; lack of credit; and poor health—working closely with villagers so that its approaches are compatible with their realities. As the only NGO in the area, it addresses these issues by helping organize the villagers, providing education and health services where the government’s execution falls short. EMpower’s most recent grant will promote basic education and rights for girls and women and work to eliminate illiteracy, child labour, early marriage, and gender inequality.
