Vidhayak Sansad takes a multi-pronged approach to reducing social, economic, and cultural barriers to quality education by running schools for migrant and tribal children, working with government institutions to improve the quality of education, promoting indigenous leader development, running youth study and play groups to promote learning outside the classroom, advocating against seasonal migration, and tackling malnutrition. With EMpower's 2009/2010 grant, Vidhayak Sansad is deepening the work that it has been doing in the clast two grants in two main directions, the first focused on removing social, geographic and economic barriers preventing disadvantaged youth from entering the educational system, and the second on further developing community structures to hold the government-run educational system accountable and thereby improve educational quality.
