EMpower Board Directors Maddy Foo, Sandeep Gupta, David Fernandez and Myrna Jivraj from Hong Kong spent time from 17-19 November visiting some of EMpower’s outstanding grantee partners working with at-risk youth in Delhi, India! They visited partners including AZAD, Chintan Environmental Research and Action Group, Feminist Approach to Technology (FAT), Joint Operation for Social Health (JOSH) and Swechha We for Change Foundation (Swechha). Among the many activities and experiences with staff and young people, Board Directors participated in a community walk to the Jagadamba Camp slum led by Swechha’s Director, Deeksha Bhatia, and visited Kitaab Ghar (House of Books), a community center where youth gather to read and learn. More photos of their trip can be found on EMpower’s facebook page.
